DevOps Engineer (AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD & Cloud Infrastructure) – Remote | U.S. Hours Position Type: Full-Time, Remote Working Hours: U.S. Client Business Hours (flexibility for deployments, incidents, and on-call rotations)
About the Role At Pavago , one of our clients is hiring a DevOps Engineer to build, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and automation systems.
This role is focused on: Cloud infrastructure CI/CD pipelines Kubernetes & containerization Monitoring & reliability

You’ll work closely with engineering teams to ensure systems are:

What You’ll Own Cloud Infrastructure & Infrastructure-as-Code (Core Focus)
Provision and manage infrastructure on:
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using: Terraform Pulumi CloudFormation
Configure: Networking Compute resources Storage systems Scaling environments Optimize infrastructure reliability and cost efficiency CI/CD Pipeline Automation
Build and maintain pipelines using: GitHub Actions Jenkins GitLab CI CircleCI
Automate:
Support: Zero-downtime deployments Rollback strategies Multi-environment deployments
Containerization & Kubernetes
Manage: Docker containers Kubernetes clusters Deploy and support microservices environments Monitor cluster health and performance
Optimize containerized workloads for: Performance Scalability Reliability
Monitoring, Logging & Incident Response
Implement observability tools such as:
New Relic
Configure: Logging pipelines Alerts Monitoring dashboards
Participate in: Incident response Root cause analysis On-call rotations
Security & Compliance
Apply cloud security best practices: IAM Least privilege access Encryption
Support compliance initiatives: SOC 2 HIPAA PCI GDPR Run vulnerability scans and proactive patching
Automation & Collaboration Partner with developers to improve deployment workflows Eliminate bottlenecks through automation
Document: Infrastructure Pipelines Operational runbooks Continuously improve reliability and deployment speed
What Makes You a Strong Fit You enjoy solving infrastructure and automation challenges You stay calm during incidents and troubleshoot methodically You care deeply about reliability, scalability, and security You proactively automate repetitive operational work You collaborate effectively with engineering teams
Required Experience & Skills 3+ years of experience in: DevOps SRE Infrastructure engineering
Strong experience with: AWS, GCP, or Azure CI/CD pipelines Docker Kubernetes
Experience with: Infrastructure-as-Code Monitoring systems Deployment automation
Strong understanding of: Cloud networking System reliability Production infrastructure
Nice to Have
Strong Terraform or Pulumi expertise
Experience in: SaaS Fintech Healthcare Enterprise applications
Exposure to: Serverless architecture AWS Lambda
Cloud Functions
Cloud or DevOps certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer CKA Kubernetes certifications
What a Typical Day Looks Like Monitor infrastructure and production systems Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows Provision or modify infrastructure with Terraform Troubleshoot deployment or performance issues Collaborate with developers on scaling and reliability Review logs, alerts, and system metrics Update documentation and operational runbooks
