About Reserv
Reserv is an insurtech creating and incubating cutting-edge AI and automation technology to bring efficiency and simplicity to claims. Founded by insurtech veterans with deep experience in SaaS and digital claims, Reserv is venture-backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures and began operations in May 2022. We are focused on automating highly manual tasks to tackle long-standing problems in claims and set a new standard for TPAs, insurance technology providers, and adjusters alike. We have ambitious (but attainable!) goals and need people who can work in an evolving environment. If building a leading TPA and the prospect of tackling the long-standing challenges of the claims role sounds exciting, we can't wait to meet you.
About the role:
The Compliance Analyst – UK at Reserv will play a valuable role in supporting our company’s adherence to UK regulatory requirements, industry best practices and ethical standards. This position is designed for a developing compliance professional with strong UK complaints knowledge, who will assist in developing and implementing compliance programs and initiatives to help mitigate risks and safeguard our operations. A familiarity with TPAs is ideal.
This is a hands-on role, with guidance and oversight from your manager. Your focus will be doing the work: resolving UK complaints and responding to GDPR data subject access requests (DSARs), Data Protection Act (DPA) requests and Request for Access to Data (RAD1) requests accurately, fairly and within the required timescales, with particular care for vulnerable customers.
Who you are:
Highly motivated and growth-oriented. You're excited by the prospect of building a tech-driven claims org.
Passionate Risk & Compliance professional who cares about the customer and their experience.
Empathetic. You exercise empathy and patience towards everyone you interact with.
Sense of urgency - at all times. That does not mean working at all hours.
Creative. You challenge existing assumptions and find ways of leveraging technology to reimagine the R&C process.
Curious. You want to know the whole story so you can make the right decisions early and be decisive when it counts.
Anti-status quo. You don’t just wish things were done differently, you action on it.
Communicative. (we'd love to know what this means to you) And did we mention, a sense of humor. Claims are hard enough as it is.
What We Need:
We need you to be able to perform the following key responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance
Possess awareness of UK requirements, including UK GDPR, the Data Protection
Act 2018, FCA rules, Consumer Duty and FCA guidance on vulnerable customers, and apply them to day-to-day complaints and data requests.
Help translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for claims handlers and UK colleagues, working alongside the wider compliance team.
Assist in drafting and updating procedures and training materials, including complaints and data protection.
Help document and communicate relevant changes to stakeholders.
Compliance Program Management
Manage UK complaints from intake through resolution, recognising vulnerable customers and adapting to their needs, and ensuring timely, accurate and fairresponses in line with internal complaints procedures and FCA rules, including Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) referrals.
Respond to GDPR DSARs: verify requests, gather data from systems and teams, apply redactions and exemptions, and meet statutory deadlines.
Process DPA requests and Request for Access to Data (RAD1) requests, validating each one and issuing accurate, timely responses.
Monitor and approve sanctions screening alerts for payments, investigating potential matches, deciding whether to release or block, and escalating true or unresolved matches in line with UK sanctions requirements.
Maintain organised records of all complaints and requests, and escalate breaches, vulnerable-customer concerns and potential data incidents promptly.
Support responses to audits and regulatory enquiries by preparing materials and gathering documentation.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Track complaints and DSAR, DPA and RAD1 volumes, turnaround times and outcomes, including cases involving vulnerable customers, and help flag trends and root causes.
Prepare regular compliance reports, with oversight from your manager.
Risk & Control Oversight
Support control testing and documentation for UK claims compliance, and help identify improvements based on complaint trends, audit findings and incidents.
Ownership & Execution
Take ownership of your assigned compliance areas and seek opportunities to improve processes.
Manage your own caseload and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, seeking guidance where needed.
Check your work carefully, including complaint responses and data disclosures, before it goes to customers, colleagues or regulators.
Adapt quickly to new areas and contribute beyond core responsibilities as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with claims, technology and quality teams to provide practical compliance support and to automate complaint and request tracking where possible.
Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency in guidance and regulatory interpretation.
Participate in team meetings and company initiatives to stay aligned with broader compliance and operational objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Risk Management, or related field (lack of one should not stop you from applying if you possess all the other qualifications).
2-3 years of experience in compliance, complaints or claims within the insurance industry or wider UK financial services.
Strong knowledge of UK complaints, including FCA complaints rules and the Financial Ombudsman Service, gained through hands-on experience resolving customer complaints.
Working knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, ideally with experience responding to DSARs and DPA requests (experience of RAD1 requests is a plus).
Awareness of the FCA’s expectations for the fair treatment of vulnerable customers, with the empathy to identify vulnerability and support customers appropriately.
Awareness of UK sanctions regulations, ideally with experience reviewing sanctions screening alerts for payments.
Good understanding of UK insurance claims regulations and compliance frameworks, with awareness of Consumer Duty.
Experience of insurance claims handling or claims compliance, preferably across multiple lines of business.

Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear, concise guidance, procedures and training materials.
Comfort with technology and AI tools, with enthusiasm for leveraging automation to improve compliance processes.
Strong technical skills in systems such as Excel or Google Sheets, with the proven ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain regulatory concepts clearly to non-compliance audiences and to handle sensitive customer matters with empathy.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining high-quality outputs.
Self-starting mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
Collaborative team player who works well across functions and contributes to a positive team culture.
Professional certifications such as Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) or International Compliance Association (ICA), are a plus.
