As the co-founder of Yumbrel, I have been directly involved in managing the commercial operations of my own business, including identifying sales opportunities, sourcing products, contacting and negotiating with suppliers, setting pricing strategies, providing customer service, coordinating deliveries, and following up on each transaction. This experience has given me a business owner's perspective on sales. A sale doesn't end when a customer says "yes"; behind every transaction are profit margins, costs, suppliers, logistics, customer experience, and the responsibility to deliver on promises. As an independent civil engineer, I was involved in acquiring and managing residential construction projects, where I first had to understand each client's needs, expectations, and budget before presenting a suitable solution. To win projects, I developed practical skills in active listening, negotiation, relationship building, and communication. I learned how to explain technical concepts in simple terms and align client expectations with the actual possibilities of each project. Working with internal clients, cross-functional teams, and time-sensitive processes taught me to listen before taking action, understand the underlying problem behind each request, and take ownership until a solution is found.
